How much is a private company, a property, a business, a security, or any income producing asset worth? An examination of the difference between intrinsic value and market value, the time value of money, and why, when buying an asset, so many buyers overpay.

This purpose of this video is to provide a measure of guidance and insight to the lawyer, the accountant and the business and financial professional who is called upon to counsel clients engaged in commercial transactions.

When purchasing an asset, there may be many reasons why a buyer overpaid. For a buyer not to do so he must first be aware that he is overpaying. Armed with the insight this video provides, that advice may come from you.

The Market:

Anyone who presumes to provide a client with an insight it may wish to have after the client has read its own financial statement, or after receiving an offer involving a merger or acquisition, or upon receiving a seller’s real estate pro forma financial statement.

This is the inaugural video in a future planned series being adapted from Mr. Lipson’s books.
