Sean Bawden is a partner with the law firm of Kelly Santini LLP. He was called to the bar in 2008 and practices in the areas of employment law and civil litigation. Colleen Hoey is a partner at Mann Lawyers where she practices primarily in the area of employment law. Colleen’s practice involves providing advice to both employees and employers throughout the lifecycle of the employment relationship. This can include drafting and evaluating employment contracts, severance packages and workplace polices. It also frequently involves wrongful dismissal, human rights, and harassment complaints. Colleen regularly provides employment advice in the context of the sale/purchase of a business; she also assists members of various regulated professions during investigations by their respective colleges. Colleen obtained both a civil law (B.C.L.) and common law (LL.B) degree from McGill in 2004. She was called to the Quebec bar in 2005 and the Ontario bar in 2006. She holds a B.A. from the University of Guelph (1995) and an M.A. in International Affairs, Carleton University (1999). She has limited value as a golf partner except to highlight the skills of others. She does however enjoy just about anything that will get her out on the water.
Charles Hofley is a senior labour and employment lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Ottawa office who maintains a bilingual practice. He has more than 30 years of experience advising private and public sector employers on a broad range of employment and labour matters, including collective agreement negotiation/administration, strike and injunction preparation, human rights and social service matters. Charles is an experienced negotiator and regularly appears before boards of arbitration, administrative tribunals and all levels of court. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on current issues in labour and employment law
Siobhan O’Brien is an Ottawa labour lawyer, employment lawyer and human resource lawyer. She practises management-side labour and employment law and has extensive experience in wrongful dismissal litigation, employment litigation, human rights law, grievance arbitration, labour relations, collective bargaining and strike management. Craig J. Stehr is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, and member of the firm's Employment, Labour & Equalities Group. Craig represents employers in all areas of employment and labour law. Craig has spoken on a wide variety of employment and labour law topics for the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association, Lancaster House and the Centre for Labour Management Development. Craig has also taught employment law at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. He currently sits as a Councillor on the Ontario Bar Association’s Provincial Council, representing Eastern Ontario.
Cheryl works in-house for Canada Post Corporation as Senior Legal Counsel. She advises the Corporation in all areas of employment, labour and human rights law, often providing strategic direction on Corporate-wide initiatives and critical business projects. Cheryl has been extensively involved in collective bargaining, national policy grievances, discharge grievances, and employment litigation. Prior to joining Canada Post in 2016, Cheryl was an Associate Lawyer with Hicks Morley Hamilton Stewart Storie LLP. She was called to the Bar in 2010.
