Heidi Ruppert practiced Family Law exclusively from her Call to the Bar in 1993 to 2003. From 2003 to 2005, Heidi transitioned her legal practice to a Family Mediation practice. From 2005 to the present, Heidi has practiced exclusively as a Family Law Mediator. Heidi is an AccreditedFamily Mediator and certified as an OnlineDispute Resolution Specialist through the OntarioAssociation for Family Mediation. Heidi has taught as an adjunct professor at CarletonUniversity and the University of Ottawa Law School. Heidi has delivered numerous training sessions in mediation, negotiation, and conflict management. In addition to practicing as aFamily Law Mediator, Heidi is a Certified Conflict Management Coach and delivers training inConflict Management Coaching. Outside of her work life, Heidi is an avid runner, cyclist, cross country skier, hiker, tennis player, “RIFTOR” and golfer (although her golf handicap reflects otherwise).

Bruce Stedman

Bruce Stedman has been practicing as a Family Lawyer here in Ottawa for the past 30 plus years since his Call to the Bar in 1992. Bruce enjoyed working as a sole practitioner with his colleagues atMalpass Law Office from 1992 to 2000. Since 2000, Bruce has continued his family law practice as a sole practitioner and in 2015 transitioned his practice to primarily providing client-based mediation and lawyer-assisted mediation services. This is Bruce’s first year on the conference planning committee
