Jill Lewis

Jill Lewis has been practicing employment law at Nelligan Law since for 7 years, since she was an articling students. She works with employees and employers to find fair and reasonable solutions to their workplace issues. Jill has recently been accredited by OsgoodePD for the Advanced Certificate in Workplace Investigations, and is looking forward to incorporating this training into her practice. Jill is originally from Haliburton Highlands and grew up at a cottage resort—a place she so desperately wanted to leave and now so desperately wants to return to.

Stephanie Lewis

 

Stephanie Lewis is an employment lawyer with Dentons Canada LLP, where she practices in all areas of management-side employment and labour law and conducts workplace investigations. As part of her practice, she regularly advises clients on best practices for starting out an employment relationship on the right foot and with strong contractual terms. She also assists ongoing workplace management issues. When Stephanie isn’t discussing the ins and outs of employment law, she can be found spending time with her husband, kids and their new puppy, Barkley

Nigel McKechnie

Nigel McKechnie was a mental health professional for several years before going to law school and graduating in 2013. He was called to the bar the following year. Nigel enjoys employment litigation and the Rules of Civil Procedure. In his spare time, Nigel enjoys motoring and visiting cottages and small towns with his family

Kyle Shimon

 

Kyle Shimon joined Emond Harnden in 2018, after practicing exclusively in the area of employment law at another law firm in Ottawa. Kyle has successfully advocated for clients in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice, and at the tribunal level. His practice includes all areas of labour and employment law with a specific emphasis on advocacy and litigation in the areas of wrongful dismissal, human rights, employment standards compliance, and mediation and arbitration. In addition, Kyle is also experienced in the preparation and analysis of employment contracts and other human resources materials to help ensure that employers are well protected in their operations. Kyle advises employers across Ontario who appreciate his straight forward, down-to-earth approach in providing strategic advice towards resolving their human resources concerns. Born and raised in Ottawa, Kyle is committed to the local community. When he is not in the office, he is an avid hockey and baseball fan, cheering for the Ottawa Senators and the New York Mets
