Richard Fowler received his LL.B. from McGill University in 1994. He articled with David W. Gibbons, Q.C. and has practised as a criminal defence lawyer in B.C. and the Yukon since being called to the bar in 1995. Richard has chaired and presented at criminal law conferences organized by the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C. and the CBA. In January 2011, he was awarded the Chief Justice J.V. Milvain Visiting Chair in Advocacy by the University of Calgary Law School. He has also presented on criminal law topics for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia. In 2014, Richard was appointed Queen’s Counsel. In 2018 he helped form the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers of BC.
Matthew Nathanson is a criminal defense lawyer practicing in downtown Vancouver. He has argued cases at all levels of court in British Columbia and in the Supreme Court of Canada. Much of his practice is now dedicated to complex criminal cases.
