Danielle Douek

Before joining Legate and Associates in 2016, Danielle practiced insurance defence litigation with a focus on serious motor vehicle accidents and medical negligence cases.

Danielle’s clients have included hospitals, healthcare practitioners and insurers. She brings a balanced view to litigation and sees the problems before they have a chance to undermine the case.

Danielle is an experienced trial lawyer with successful results at trial and on appeal. Danielle is passionate about lifelong learning. In addition to completing trial workshops in Canada and the United States, Danielle has recently been awarded a Master of Laws with a specialization in Health Law.

The Honourable Madam Justice Lynne Leitch

Lynne Leitch practiced commercial law after graduating from Western Law in 1978. She was appointed to what is now the Superior Court of Ontario in 1992. In November 2003, the Minister of Justice appointed her a Regional Senior Judge and she served in that position until November 2009. She is a Past President of the Canadian Superior Courts Judges’ Association and currently serves as Chair of its Compensation Committee. She has participated in a number of international projects and is a member of the Council of the Commonwealth Judges’ and Magistrates’ Association and Chair of its Gender Section.

Jim Virtue

Jim is an experience insurance and personal injury litigator and educator who has served as an Adjunct Professor at Western University and has taught seminars on trial advocacy.

Jim is a partner and long-team leader / practitioner at Siskinds. His skills in the insurance sector are highly regarded, and he was named to the Best Lawyers in Canada list for Insurance Law. Jim is also a respected educator with contributions in a range of roles, from adjunct professor at Western Law School to work with the Bar Admission course and seminars on Trial Advocacy techniques.
