Justice Corthorn was appointed to the Superior Court in May 2015. For over 20 years prior to her appointment, Justice Corthorn was a partner with Kelly Santini LLP/SRL. Justice Corthorn received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa in 1982 and was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1984. During her 31 years in practice, Justice Corthorn’s areas of practice included plaintiffs’ personal injury law, medical and dental malpractice, insurance defence litigation, commercial litigation, estate litigation, and criminal defence work. She has presented papers and been a panel member at numerous Montebello and Mont Tremblant Civil Litigation Conferences and other Continuing Legal Education Programs. She is a past board member of the Head Injury Association, Ottawa Valley Branch.
